Dear Jorgen,

I am using abaqus to simulate the mechanical behaviour of elastor modified semi-crystalline PA 6. With simple elastic model I got no problem to predict the pure elastic behaviour / the young’s modulus of this material. As next step I want to simulate the plastic behaviour. But in the true stress-strain curve there is a softening area. So I got difficulty with the metallic plastic model to predict the plastic behaviour of this material, because this model describes only monotone increased curve. My question is, if there are some special material models which describe this polymer behaviour with softening?
You can find the figure of the true stress-strain curve here: http://www.facebook.com/editpicture.php?success=1#/photo.php?pid=30587516&id=1061008692

Thanks in advance for your tips.

Regards

Sunny

There should be different models that can handle your data.

Unfortunately I cannot look at the picture on facebook. Can you put the figure on this or some other open access site?

I sent you the figure of this material (semi crystalline PA 6) yesterday per email. You replied and suggested me to use TNM and PNM models. I am looking forward your next answer now. :)
