HI EVERYONE HERE,

I'D LIKE TO BE ADVISED ON WHAT IS REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
ABAQUS AND LSDYAN IN IMPACT SIMULATIONS OF AUTOMOTIVE STRUCTURES. THANK YOU FOR INPUT.

Here are some differences:
 The license fee for ABAQUS is higher than the license fee for LS-DYNA.
 Most people would probably agree that the documentation for ABAQUS is more comprehesive than the documentation for LS-DYNA, and that ABAQUS has a more "polished feel".
 Both ABAQUS and LS-DYNA have very good explicit FEA capabilities.
 My personal experience is that LS-DYNA explicit simulations run faster than corresponding ABAQUS simulations, but that it takes more effort to set up an LS-DYNA simulation than it takes to set up an ABAQUS simulation. I have not, however, carefully studied the run times, etc.
 LS-DYNA has some interesting features not present in ABAQUS, for example, the ability to switch between implicit and explict simulations at arbitrary times.
 I personally prefer the pre- and post-processing capabilities of ABAQUS over what is available in LS-DYNA. Note, LS-DYNA does not really have a pre-processor.

Both FE packages are very good, which is better will depend on specific simulation requirements and the simulation environment.
