View Full Version : about the NR(55phr CB) test data
There might be a problem for the planar tension data, I think. If the tested specimen was not deforming in a nearly homogeneous state, its test result will not be reliable. Another reason may be in the preparation technique of the specimens which might induce the noncoincidence of the material properties.
Hello Yongby,
The experimental data was provided to me by another PolymerFEM.com member. I agree, the experimental data is slightly fishy, I would not think that the experimental curves should cross. It is possible to neglect part of the data in an effort to clean it up.
Cheers,
Jorgen
hi jörgen!
could you tell me the meaning of the different material parameters shown in the experimental curves?
i found out that the 2 parameters for neo hooke are shear and bulk modulus.
so i could convert them for use in abaqus.
i also found out the meaning of the mooney rivlin parameters.
but what is the meaning of the parameters of the other models (especially arruda-boyce, yeoh, van der waals)?
thx moritz
Hi Moritz,
You can read about the material parameters for the neo-hookean, Arruda-Boyce 8-chain model, and the Yeoh model on the following page (http://www.polymerfem.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=59&mode=&order=0&thold=0)

hi jörgen!
thanks a lot!
