If you are looking for experimental data for elastomers, take a look at the Materials and Models pages (http://polymerfem.com/index.php?pageid=mat_mod).

The Materials and Models section contains both experimental data and predictions from different material models.

Thanks a lot!

Natural Rubber(55pph CB) and Silicone Rubber seem are unuseful....the test date don't download.........

Thanks for letting me know. I fixed the problem, you can now dowload these files from:

NR (http://polymerfem.com/polymer_files/Materials_Models/Materials/NR55/NR_55pphCB.zip)

Silicone Rubber (http://polymerfem.com/polymer_files/siliconeRubber.zip)

Hi,

I am new to this forum and relatively new to FEM. I wanted to model elastomer deformations in microelectromechanical systems, but have heard from people that ANSYS is not good at elastomer FEM (the results cannot be trusted).

I was hoping that I could get a "layman's" introduction to elastomer modeling using ANSYS and to verify the above claim.

I am using PDMS silicone elastomers.

Thank you.

I disagree with the statement. The hyperelastic models in Ansys work just fine (the same way as in any other FE software).

For more accurate results, if that is needed, you can use a user-material subroutine.
