The Hybrid Model has been shown to accurately predict the behavior of conventional and highly crosslinked UHMWPE. This paper introduces a number of modifications to the theory that further improve the qualitative predictions from the theory. A particular emphasis has been placed on predicting the behavior under cyclic loading. The final version of this draft working paper will be published in Biomaterials.
