View Full Version : The improved BB model in Abaqus v6.6-1
Hello Jorgen,
Would you mind comment a little bit on the improvement Abaqus did for BB model in V6.6-1. i.e., from your perspective, what they have improved, and what is still problematic.
thank you

Good question. I hope to give a more detailed report as soon as I get more time :(
Anyway, here are my first impressions:
- The new implementation of the BB model (*Hysteresis) that is available in ABAQUS v6.6 seems to be much more robust than their old implementation.
- They still have more work to do, however, if they want catch up to my implementation (http://www.polymerfem.com/modules.php?name=User_Subroutines). For example, the ABAQUS implementation is still only available for solid, axisymmetric, and plane strain (not plane stress or shells); it is only available for Standard (not Explicit), and does not include Mullins effect or temperature dependence.
The new implementation is certainly a step in the right direction though.
- Jorgen
