Hello Jurgen,
Do you know if it is possible to post process the history variables written in the LS-DYNA binary file in to a meaningful name. Can pls give me a procedure or information. It need not be post process. I am looking for a way to write meaningful name, rather than hist var 1 ..etc

If I remember right, the first three history variables have predefined names. I think the first history variable can also be accessed as the plastic strain magnitude. Although you might want to double check that.

I believe that you can also process the history variables by saving them into an external data file during your simulation.

I don't know of any other way to rename the history variable.

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to do?
