Hello,

I must create the model describing the material behavior of reinforced (20%Glass Balls, 10%Glass Fibres) Nylon 6 in room temperature.

Could anybody help me in choocing which tests I need to perform?
I'm considering doing:
- uniaxial tension and compression (in different strain rates)
- uniaxial stress relaxation (or/and creep)
- uniaxial tensile loading and unloading
- bending (large strain - time dependent)
-...

I don't know which tests I need to do, to describe this material. Could anybody help me?

Does anybody know how significant is short fibres reinforcing influence on material behavior. Is it very anisotropic material?

Thanks in advance for help :)

Hello Andree,

I think your suggested tests sound great. I think that those tests are all you need.

The degree of anisotropy will depend on the manufacturing method and the part dimensions. In you case, my guess is that the material is not too strongly anisotropic.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for the answer. :D I have got only one more question: Could You recommend me some good book about constitutive modeling? I need to complement my knowledge about it.

One more time: Thanks a lot for help

There are suprisingly few book on that subject. Some people like the book "An Introduction to the Mechanical Properties of Solid Polymers" by Ward.

You can also use the impulse excitation technique to measure these things:
