Hi, Dr Jorgen,
I am very glad to find such a good forum here!
Currently, I am doing some drop test simulation by ABAQUS on some electronic device, which has thermoplastic covers.
I know thermoplastic has different performance while high strain-rate is happened, compared with the normal 0.08% strain-rate in ASTM D638 test. How can I get the appropriate strain-rate level? Then I could do some material test according to the level.
Whether the simulation result comes from simple elastic-plastic material paramters could be reference? I have check the result, the biggest strain-rate is about 500/s.
Another question, do you think which kind of element model is suitable for the thermoplastics simulation? such as the PC,PMMA...etc.
Thank you very much!
Regards~~
Jeff
