If you are editing ABAQUS or LS-DYNA input files using the emacs text editor then you might find these elisp-files (http://polymerfem.com/polymer_files/abaqus.el.zip) very useful.
The emacs mode files are easy to install and give syntax highlighting which significantly improve the readability of the input files. One example for ABAQUS is and one example for LS-DYNA are shown below.
