Hi,

I am new to this forum and relatively new to FEM. I wanted to model elastomer deformations in microelectromechanical systems, but have heard from people that ANSYS is not good at elastomer FEM (the results cannot be trusted).

I was hoping that I could get a "layman's" introduction to elastomer modeling using ANSYS and to verify the above claim.

I am using PDMS silicone elastomers.

Thank you.

Hi,

To get introduced to elastomer FEA using ANSYS, you can read the ANSYS documentation for "hyperelasticity". You may also want to go through some of the elastomer problems from verification manual available in the ANSYS help.

Nimish,

Thanks!!

I ll go through what you mentioned and see what I can get.
