Question about adaptive mesh

Hi,

I am the first time using adaptive mesh. But I keep getting the error that conflict boundary conditions are given to some nodes.

I have controllded displacement on one edge, and I choose the elements (not include the elements at the edge) to be adaptive mesh.

So why I keep getting that error? Actually, I have excluded the nodes with displacement control from the adptive mesh already.

That sounds strange to me too. What FE software are you using? Have to tried any examples given in the user's manuals?

I am using ABAQUS 6.5. It works now. It seems ABAQUS 6.5 CAE has a bug here that the domain for adaptive mesh is only available for nodes not for elements. It seems we can only define adaptive mesh by change the .inp file.
