"total mechanical strain" in ANSYS

Does anyone know how the "total mechanical strain" output is derived from the displacement in the structural modeling of ANSYS? Is the total mechanical strain the Green's strain or linear strain? Thank you very much! I really appreciate your information.

feel free to not to quote me on this one but I would have bet that both the linear or the Green strain are used to determine the total mechanical strain, the choice depending upon the fact the "small" or "large displacement" option is used.

At the end of the day the two coincide for small displacements and certainly the linear starin tensor could not be used in non linear large deflection analysis.

I do not have acces to the manuals at the moment but will have in a short time.
